5 Healthy Skin Habits


5 healthy skin habits you should start today are directly below! Take a look and let me know how they work for you. I am always complimented on my skin, people ask me what is my secret? I tell them, ” Water, exercise, a healthy diet, clean skin habits, and a good nights sleep!” They laugh and say there has to be more than that. But what they don’t know is that internally is where healthy skin starts to flourish.


1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!


Water is not only important to drink every day, but it’s what we’re made out of too! Replenishing your body with water gives you that extra boost throughout the day and beautiful skin. Some recommend 8 glasses a day but start small and build your way up from there. Set a goal for yourself; start with 2 8 oz. glasses: one in the morning, and one in the evening, baby steps.

2. Work out!


You honestly can’t say you don’t work out. Do you walk around your house or jog to the remote to catch your favorite t.v. show? Well that’s a start lol! Try jogging, swimming, or anything you love to do that gets you active. You’re body sweats out toxins when you do so, therefore helping your skin become healthier. It all begins from the inside, remember that.

3. Healthy Diet


Fruits and vegetables are actually very good! Try doing something new. Instead of going out to the store and spending 30 dollars on foods that wont benefit you, try spending it on organic fruits and vegetables. Even $10 is a start. Try something new! I used to be a huge candy junkie when I was 18-19, but something snapped when I hit 20 and for the past 3 years I’ve been eating so much fruits and vegetables that it’s become better than candy for me. I never would’ve thought I’d be choosing grapes over a bag of candy, but I do! It’s good for you and it tastes good too. You have to admit, that picture above looks pretty good doesn’t it?:)

4. Clean your skin!


There are all sorts of things you can do to clean your skin. Exfoliation is definitely one way to scrub of dead skin cells to reveal your beautiful skin beneath. I even have 5 firming facial masks that truly do give your face a glow, some are even tasty!

5. Good night’s sleep!

DSCN1449My 2 month old son sets the perfect example! Lol even if you have to take naps in the day, do so! Since my boyfriend and I take turns between diaper changes and night feedings for our son, we don’t get much sleep lol. However, it is actually possible to sleep when baby sleeps which is something I had to learn to do, as well as going to sleep earlier too. There is nothing more important than getting a good night’s sleep. Try you’re best to reach out to at least 8 hours of sleep to feel refreshed. The mind needs to rest from the stress of the day, get some shut eye, you will thank yourself later.
