Hey everyone! It’s a rainy afternoon today and I decided, hey, why not do my egg yolk and extra virgin olive oil hair mask today? I love rainy days! I don’t let the rain get me down, there’s too much to do! An egg yolk and olive oil hair mask helps to strengthen your hair from the roots to the ends. It helps in those who are experiencing breakage, and for those who want a sheen shine to their hair.

Olive oil is rich in fatty acids that coat the hair shaft, therefore making it a great natural hair sealant. It gives you shiny and healthier hair.

Egg yolk contains vitamins A, D, E, B12, and more essential vitamins. It is enriched with potassium, calcium, iron and protein, along with additional benefits.

This is how I do my protein treatment for my natural hair.

Supplies used:

1-2 egg yolks

Extra virgin olive oil

Fork, (also a Popsicle stick works fine)

Small bowl

Steps:

1. I first begin by cracking open my eggs, removing the whites, and only dumping the yolk into a small bowl.

2. I then add 3 big spoons off extra virgin olive oil.

3. I mix it gently with a fork

4. I apply the product to my hair and put on a grocery bag (or plastic cap) for about 30 minutes.

5. After 30 minutes, I rinse it out with cool water; apply leave in conditioner, and tada!

I got my proteins worth in 30 minutes! I do this treatment at least 1-2 times a month. Too much of a good thing can be bad for you. Instead if you feel you want to add life to your hair, just use olive oil on those dry hair days. A little amount goes a long way!
