4a Natural Hair Regimen – Linda’s Update!

This is my updated 4a Natural Hair Regimen now!! When it comes to wash day, I am serious about locking in moisture. If you didn’t know, this is what I used to do with my hair: beauty remedies with coconut oil. I still use coconut oil but have tried new things for my hair as well! I’ve changed my regimen around a bit… don’t worry, it’s very similar to my old regimen!

This is what you’ll need, basically the same things I’ve always used:

1. Viva Labs #1 Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

2. NOW Foods Jojoba Oil Pure, 4 ounce

3. NOW Foods Sweet Almond Oil, Moisturizing Oil, 16 ounce

4. NOW Solutions Castor Oil, 100 % Pure, 16 ounce

5. NEW- Hair Mayonnaise By Organic Root Stimulator Treatment

6. NEW- Silver Conditioning Cap

HAIR MAYONNAISE By ORGANIC ROOT STIMULATOR Treatment is amazing!! It smells great and is enriched with olive oil, egg protein, herbs & now, a boost of wheat germ oil! It helps to fight shedding and breakage and works great for damaged hair! Although my hair is healthy and undamaged, I loved adding this to my regimen! This is what mainly updated my hair regimen for my 4a type hair!

Here’s what I do:

1. In a small bowl I mix about half a tea spoon of each oil, and add about a good helping of four spoons of the hair mayonnaise.

2. I then add 2-3 spoons of my baba de caracol deep conditioning and vigorously mix it with a Popsicle stick. It creates a smooth creamy mix that’s easy to apply.

3. I split my hair in small sections, or if I’m speeding up the process, 2 mini buns in the front and 1 in the back, 3 sections.  If your hair is tangled that’s fine, the point is to apply the product, it actually detangles my hair the instant I start rubbing it through!

4. I wrap each section in a little Bantu knot or i part my hair in three, twist and clip, depends whatever works for you and your time frame, and move on to the next section.

I have a total of 13 Bantu knots on my head that I then place a plastic grocery bag, then my silver conditioning cap and let it sit and gather up heat for a good 45 min. to 1hr.

1210115848 I follow through with a shampoo, or a thorough rinse with my Baba de Caracol Regenerative Rinse. After I do this, I follow through with my favorite deep conditioner, Baba de Caracol, or I use my leave in if I’m using heat afterwards, but that’s it! Pretty easy isn’t it?

Usually I let it air dry into my cute little new found fro I discovered after my recent mini chop! However…if I decide not to leave it in a fro, I style it into my favorite transitioning hair styles. Although I’m not a full natural just yet, my relaxed ends are barley there anymore! I’ve gotten to know my hair a lot the past year, and am finding it easier to manage with each passing day! In no time, you’ll begin to see how much easier your new growth is to manage, for all you transitioners out there. Or if you’re already natural, this will make your hair much more manageable for styling. 4a hair is very manageable when you use the right materials. You just have to find what works best for you since, after all, not all of our hair is the same right?! Any questions or comments, feel free to ask Linda Below! Thank you, and have a happy natural hair regimen day!!
